Score! Everyday is a new day~

Published by Seybur under Uncategorized Edit This

Job possibility around the bend! AND IT PAYS WELL, Y’HEAR. (I swear to doG, if this is a scam =o=….)

I got a voice mail while I was at school, and the returned the call after bullshitting my math test. (Oh, come on, don’t look at me like that; I would’ve failed it anyway.)

So now, I have to listen to this telephone broadcast thing tomorrow at 10am and listen. And then Ray (the recruiter or boss or…y’know I don’t even know what the hell he is, actually :/ ) will do a mock customer call and test me on my phone skillz. Which won’t be nerve-wracking at all. EXCEPT IT WILL.

-+-

I hope I get the job and do well…. If I do well, I get 500USD for every day I work. THAT WOULD KEEP MY FAMILY’S HEADS ABOVE WATER NICELY. Plus, it would pay for my college and help me save up for a place of my own in Dallas, Texas (where I shall be a voice actor for Funimation! Ho ho ho~).

AND Risa wants me to visit her…. I wanna go back to Japan so bad *0*….

My starting wage is 100$ per working day, methinks.

A thing about money is that I’ll always need it, whether I reach my dreams or not. So knowing I have it will be very comforting. Especially with our economy being so screwy right now.

NINJA TRAINING

Published by Seybur under Ninja Edit This

So, it’s kinda hard training to be a ninja, especially if you’re lazy. But I manage. …Kinda. Maybe. In a way. Except not. But still.

WELL, OKAY, THEN.

I did find a book in Japan that had all these cool ninja training techniques. It was especially nifty since not a whole lot is known about ninjas. I’ll have to find that book again once I start taking my training seriously…. (Or, if I get enough money, there are classes offered, too!)

Until then, I just practice being silent and light on my feet. Too bad I have cracking knees and ankles. Ahaha….

Another thing I do is whenever I go up the stairs in my house, I do it super fast! I try to, at least. I just like how cool it sounds if I climb them fast enough. The systematic thuds aren’t exactly stealthy, but they make me feel quick. Ninja-quick.

…Okay, so my ninja training thus far is a complete joke. But I do want to improve myself!

There’s a site called Expert Village that teaches…pretty much anything, really. And while there aren’t specific ninja videos, there’re a whole plethora of martial arts you can learn on there.

And isn’t learning the forms of those arts to better yourself as a person the most important thing?

I hear martial arts really ups your confidence…. So I’d like to try it out.

It all comes down to money, huh?

My art teacher (SAMBORSKI, FTW) once told us that it always costs you one thing to learn something else. And I think the reason I remember it so well is because how true it rang (and still rings) to me; in this case, the more literal meaning of my art teacher’s statement is what comes to my mind all the damn time.

Especially looking at this list of materials needed for a homestudy course for learning the craft of watch-making. All of it amounts to about 2 thou.

And since I’ll be paying bills this weekend, bringing my total account balance to about 20$…2 thou I do not possess.

Now…I’ll admit that watch/clock-maker/repairer isn’t too high on my to-dos. Not many young people get into the trade, anyway; it’s not one of those jobs you need to start working at in your youth.

But I feel bad for neglecting it, is all. XD;;; Ohh….

So Many Ideas = So Much Work

But that’s the way the river flows, right? And not like I’m complaining, anyway. When you find something you like to do, it’s the kind of work that feels…really good.

Anyway, in this entry, I thought I’d intro my Mangaka dream by sharing a few failed comic ideas.

Just believe and things are bound to happen!

Published by Seybur under Voice Actor Edit This

Being a jobless college student, I am poor. Quality mics usually cost a bit more than what I can afford. So when auditioning for voice-overs, I have to use my scuffed-up, pieces-missing-from-it, family-plan cellphone.

And because the sound on my computer isn’t that high of quality, I never had a good estimate of what exactly my phone-recordings sound like. Anyone I auditioned for usually made no comment or gave good feedback on my acting. But no one ever said a word about the quality of my audio.

Until…one day, I auditioned for (possibly) the only paying gig on VAA.

Voice Acting Alliance

Published by Seybur under Voice Actor Edit This

Yeah! Yeah! X3

I’ve already pimped it at Coup Review, ‘n’ I’ll do it here, too. Cuz seriously, I love this place. Well, from what I’ve seen of it, anyway.

I’m not a big fan of forums, as they tend to be filled with oh-so-enlightened complete assholes.

-
Anyway, this came up on Google after I found out that Funimation only hires those with “significant voice-over experience” who live in/near Dallas, Texas. (Dammit!)

And…this has to be the best site for this kinda thing. Like with normal work, when you’re just starting out, it’s better to do it to “learn, not earn”. There are tons of people there willing to give you critiques, and not in the I’m-a-critic-ho-ho-ho-bigword-bigword-bigword way. They’re friendly and we’re all generally very chipper.

Besides, on rare occasion, people do offer you money for your voice-acting. (I just auditioned for a paying gig today, actually!)

Just to name-drop again, it’s Voice Acting Alliance. Tell ‘em mister.moshi sent you.

My Dreams! (As of now, anyway.)

Published by Seybur under Daring To Dream Edit This

Well, crap. When I said that personal blogs don’t get as much traffic as others, I guess I wasn’t kidding. Zero views for Daring To Dream? Seriously?

Not that Coup Review was top dog, but I at least had an average of 13 views daily, even when I didn’t post anything. (Not the case anymore, now that I’m focusing my attention on this baby.)

Still trying to fix it up, makin’ it presentable.

In the meantime, I thought it was a great time to mention to you all the dreams I’m daring to reach for:

Daring To Mock.

Published by Seybur under Daring To Dream Edit This

These days, people are expected to think logically about things and encouraged to have a realistic outlook on life. There are more pessimists and apathists than optimists and idealists.

In this blog, I want to be able to talk about my many far-fetched dreams and share my progress in reaching them. Maybe this way, I can get others to follow this example.

Maybe they’ll be happier that way, and maybe that’ll help make the world a better place.

-
. . . What I wrote when requesting a second blog. AND THEY LET ME HAVE ONE, LOL.

Sometimes, I wonder if they actually read the “Why I Want A Blog”. When they confirmed I got it, they only mentioned that they looked over my experience with them and that’s why they accepted and processed my request.

Not that I’m ditching out on Coup Review. No way! It just gets tiring being so critical all the time, y’know? And since my life’s focus has always been about attaining my dreams, I thought it’d be great if I could base a blog off that.

What sucks is I forgot how much work it is to pretty-up one o’ these bebehs. Especially due to restrictions.

-
So, to-do list for this blog:

1) Make customized header.
2) Make customized border.
3) Do “About” Page.
4) Do “Search” Page.
5) Fix up widgets.

And…I’m pretty sure there’s more that I’m missing.

But personal blogs get a LOT less traffic than the other blogs here, so luckily not many people will be seeing Daring To Dream while it’s still in its oogly stage.

-
Anyway, I wanna take the time here to mention that…what I said up there, it italics, when requesting this blog…despite how sappy it is, I meant every word.

More people need to reach far and beyond. Less people need to “just settle”.

And even if the things that I’m hoping for don’t come true, I’m daring to…more than just dream. I’m daring to believe.
